About the Extension
I built this Chrome extension to make Flux image editing more accessible directly from your browser. While developing it using Factory AI, I encountered several challenges that required hands-on problem-solving to create a functional tool.
Getting Started
To use the extension, you'll need to follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Get Your API Key
Obtain an API key from Fal.ai. This will allow the extension to communicate with the Flux image editing API.
Step 2: Install the Extension
Download the extension ZIP file and install it in your Chrome browser following the standard Chrome extension installation process.
Step 3: Add Your Credentials
Enter your Fal.ai API key in the extension settings to authenticate your requests.
Step 4: Start Creating
Begin creating or editing images directly from your browser using the extension's interface.
Technical Considerations
Multi-Image Functionality
Multi-image functionality through Kontext proved challenging on Fal's platform. The primary limitation stems from URL-based image uploads combined with the lack of suitable temporary file storage solutions. This is an area where future improvements could be made.
Image Size Constraints
Be aware that image size constraints exist based on Kontext's acceptance parameters. Make sure your images fall within the supported dimensions for optimal results.
Development Notes
This extension was developed using Factory AI, though several issues required manual intervention and problem-solving. The experience highlighted both the potential and current limitations of AI-assisted development tools.
What's Next
I'll be adding more detailed documentation and feature updates as the extension evolves. If you have questions, feature requests, or are interested in collaborating, please don't hesitate to reach out.
